Privacy policy

Az Computer Backups is a privately operated backup utility. Google Drive access is used solely to save and verify encrypted backup archives in the destination explicitly approved by its operator.

Google data and permissions

The sole Drive scope is https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. The utility uses metadata and content for files it creates or that the user explicitly selects. It reads file identifiers, names, folder relationships, revision identifiers and verification timestamps to manage and check backups. It does not request full Drive access, Gmail access or access to unrelated files.

Use and protection

Backup contents are encrypted before upload. Verification downloads check archive integrity. OAuth credentials are stored in restricted local storage or the hosted platform's encrypted secret storage. The recovery secret is kept separately from Drive and the hosted runner. Backup data is not used for advertising, sold, or used to train general-purpose AI models. Access is limited to the privately operated backup process and its operator.

Az Computer Backups' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Retention and removal

The intended backup policy retains up to seven rotating daily archives. Replacement and verification remove older revisions of the replaced archive. Temporary acceptance archives may remain until verification is complete. The operator can delete backup files and revoke Google access at any time. Revocation stops further access but does not itself delete previously saved files.

This information website

This static website has no analytics, advertising, forms, custom cookies or access to the private backup system. The hosting provider may process ordinary technical request information to serve and protect the website.
